Fake News: Home

a real guide about not-real things

What is fake news?

Fake News is news that is false and it's sole intention is to either mislead you or to generate money for the owner. The more people that click on an article, the more money they make. So they try to create a strong sense of emotion to get you to share the article. Much of the news you see everyday is fake, and while you may realize that a lot of the ads you are see are fake, it might be harder to always spot fake news. This site hopes to help you learn how to spot fake news a little easier, and find truth in advertising (there isn't any).

Rick Roll

Rickrolling

Rickrolling is an Internet meme involving the music video for the 1987 Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up". The meme is a bait and switch; a person provides a hyperlink which is seemingly relevant to the topic at hand, but actually leads to Astley's video. The link can be masked or obfuscated in some manner so that the user cannot determine the true destination of the link without clicking.
