PHIL 1304 - Bell: Religious texts

Sacred (religious) texts are usually considered primary sources. You can find find religious texts by searching:

• The Lee College Library Catalog using the following terms:
  • The title of the work
  • Apologetics
• Internet Sacred Text Archive: Digital repository of freely available religious texts from world religions.
• Religionfacts.com:  Provides a chart comparing basic facts about world religions, including their primary sacred texts.  Some link to the texts directly.
• Project Gutenberg, a website that allows users to download e-books that are in the public domain.

NOTE:  Because many religious texts were originally authored in languages other than English, you should consider differences that may occur between editions of the same text translated by different people.  

Please keep in mind that because many indigenous religious materials are transmitted in the oral tradition, texts below are re-creations of the original material.
